VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Who is a TMOF Volunteer?
Everyone can be of service. TMOF Volunteers have no language or professional requirements for participation.
TMOF has many opportunities for mission groups, professionals, evangelists, motivational speakers, mentors, families, teachers, painters, couples or singles.
Volunteers typically share common characteristics such as flexibility, compassion, a sense of adventure as well as the desire to work with; share knowledge, skills and abilities with the local people in the host community.
Volunteers are drawn from all occupations and backgrounds, and throughout the world.
Each volunteer selects a service program that best suits their experience and interests.
A program where the volunteer feels engaged in a community project that gives him/ her a lasting benefit.
Volunteers must be in good health and have the mental and physical capability to function as a team-player.
Therefore if you are open to new challenges and enjoy working and learning with local people, then you can contribute as well as benefit from a service-learning program.
What we ask of you is flexibility, patience, a spirit of adventure and a sense of humor.
Most Ugandan cultures are very friendly, though some provide a greater degree of predictability than others due to cultural norms.
It's important to know that you are dealing with another cultural setting whenever you are volunteering internationally.
TMOF strives to provide a better future for some of the most vulnerable children in Uganda.
The need is expansive and long-term, so your opportunity to make a significance difference through service is immeasurable. You will be
- Building capacity for rural based African groups through provision of training in (facts about HIV/AIDS, child-counseling, family life education, youth life skills, training of trainers, entrepreneurship skills, sustainable agriculture, home based nursing care and counseling skills and basic management principles for leaders).
- Â Equipping young leaders (children and youths) with the basics of effective Christian leadership.
- Mentoring orphans and vulnerable children as well as rural community groups.
- Evangelizing and ministering the love of Christ to a hurting world.
- Servicing AIDS orphans and widows in the heart of Africa.
- Administrative areas such as the Child Welfare.
- Sharing any skills.
- Getting to know a community
- Gaining leadership skills
- Demonstrating commitment to a cause/ belief
- Making new friends
- Doing something different from your job
- Keeping skills alive
- Being an agent of change
Then TMOF is your rightful place to be, TMOF welcomes individuals and groups of 18+ years old from different ethnic and educational backgrounds.
There are opportunities in all aspects of TMOF's operations. Anyone with a heart to reach out and serve communities in Africa will find exciting projects to bring God's love to these deserving people.
Your time and skills will be put to great use! Some specific areas of need are listed above but TMOF is open to whatever your interest as you desire to support the children and communities of Uganda.
